Control Box

Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology increases the efficiency by matching the volts & amps produced by the solar panels to the motor requirements.

Low & high power protection turns off the system to protect the electric motor. Input power can be sourced from solar panels, batteries or appropriate petrol generators.

Latitude & Sunlight

Latitude & Sunlight Panel Tilt

For fixed solar panels, tilt them by the same latitude angle of the location. This will provide the optimum average between summer & winter solstice. Adjusting solar panel tilt during winter & summer will increase efficiency. As a general guide tilt them 15° less than latitude during summer.

Daily Water Volume

The average daily water volume pumped can be found by Volume Pumped in high sunlight = Hours of Sunlight x 60 min's x litres/min.(lpm).

Example: Around Brisbane average high sunlight is 5.4 hrs. Pump can deliver 20 litres/min. Volume daily = 5.4 hr x 60 min. x 20 lpm => Volume Daily = 6,600 litres.
